Evelyn Joan Porter, Age 11, returned to her Heavenly Home on October 23, 2024.
Evie was a bundle of energy and a source of joy to all who encountered her. Evie was proudly baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 8 years old and had a thriving testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel and a great love of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Family adventures, traveling to see new places, dance parties and solo dates and trips with her mom, Dani, kept Evie grinning. Evie lived a very family-centered life and continuously pulled many relationships under her “family” umbrella. Evie understood the importance of making everyone feel like family. Affectionately deemed “Squishy” in her early years, the nickname stuck even after the spectacular cheeks and chunky thighs leaned out into the fast and agile version of Evie who loved to train in the garage gym with her dad and brother Tate.
Evie loved sports and was a top-level center with her flag football team The AZ Lady Lions. Evie proudly sported the #66 on her jersey, in homage to her dad and coach, Ty. Evie was the hardest worker, both in and out of season, with drive and passion, and the goal to make it to the Olympics. Her team called her their Golden Retriever as she was an avid collector of people. You’re new to the team? Evie will add you to the group chat and make certain you’re introduced. She was the best at making certain everyone was included. It would be hard to count how many friends Evie has and how many considered her their BEST friend. If Evie’s ever had her hands on your phone, look back and see if she left you a series of selfies.
Evelyn is survived by her loving parents, Ty Farrel Porter and Danielle Joan Hancock Porter, her best friend big sister Joslyn Mae and beloved baby brother Mack Douglas. Great Grandparents, Grandparents, multitudes of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and countless friends, teammates, classmates, and teachers will miss Evie more than words can say.
Thanks for sharing your sparkle with us, Evie, and being the very BEST kind of weird.
