Erin was born on February 6th, 1970, in Waterbury, Connecticut.  After she graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1988, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Western Connecticut State University.  For the last 21 years, Erin has worked for Automated Data Processing, most recently as an Enterprise Learning Business Partner.

Erin is survived by her loving husband, Fred; children Brennan, Callahan, and Cooper; father Daniel Moriarty; sister Jennifer Moriarty; brothers in law Michael Nagel and John Schneider; nieces Gianna and Sophia Nagel and Kennedy Schneider, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends, who have offered much love and support throughout her life.

Erin is predeceased by her mother, Kathleen (Kelly) Moriarty and was greatly missed.

Erin was a devout fan of the Boston Red Sox, UCONN basketball, the New England Patriots and any team that Tom Brady played on.  She had a deep love of music, especially U2, the Gipsy Kings, and Billie Holiday.

A lifelong lover of art, Erin was passionate about the use of color and light to lift the hearts and souls of all who have had the honor of knowing her.  Her strength, enduring spirit, and creativity will forever live on through her paintings and in our hearts.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, April 25th, 2024, at Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 East Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, AZ 85297.  Following the service will be a Celebration of Life from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  For those that cannot attend, the service will be broadcast – with details to be shared via Facebook.  A second service in Connecticut is being planned.

Erin loved and was inspired by the works of Maya Angelou and she would want to share the following:

  • My dear cousin!! You were more of a sister than a cousin! As a little girl I looked up to you so much! Admiring the way you’d put your make up on in the car in between traffic lights! I remember having a bad day in high school and wanted a new look so you cut my hair for me in Jen’s room! I had to tilt my head to make it straight but I loved your fierce independence! You took me to my first concert and we all wore matching dresses to our cousins wedding! You have touched so many people with your optimism and light!! You will forever live on in all of us! Until we meet again, I love and miss you endlessly ❤️?☘️

  • Erin lived her life with a radiance that illuminated every room she entered. I think about the poem THE DASH, her DASH was filled with boundless positivity, unwavering motivation, and a relentless commitment to spreading joy. She was a beacon of light and inspired me to embrace life’s challenges with a smile. Her absence leaves a void, but her legacy of kindness and optimism will continue to shine brightly. She touched my life in ways words cannot express, and I will forever cherish the memories of her warmth, positivity, dancing, art, smiles and guidance. Rest in peace friend.
