Donna was born in Chicago, IL, to George Orr and Mae Williams Vine on September 22, 1938. She slipped quietly away in the early morning of August 17, 2024, into the welcoming arms of her Lord and loving family and friends that have proceeded her.
Donna was a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and dear friend to many. We honor her as a person that was beautiful, funny, loved a good time and enjoyed life. Donna was truly a woman of faithfulness and light and used those gifts when she faced difficult situations.
Donna worked for Continental Airlines “The Proud Bird with the Golden Tail” as a Flight Attendant for 44 years. She served her passengers with a pleasant smile, humor and fun. Her fellow Flight Attendants enjoyed their time working with Donna as well as the layovers. Donna was always planning a fun adventure with the crew’s downtime.
Donna is survived by her children Leslie Sherwood, Daniel, her grandsons Austin and Jordan Sherwood, sister, Barbara Erickson (Richard) and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Orr Vine, and a Baby Daughter.
Mom, we will miss your smile, laugh and love of life. Thank you for all you sacrificed for us and enjoy your welcome home. There will no doubt be a party in your honor.
We love you!
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the ASPCA.
Dear Donna,
I will always remember your beautiful smile and wonderful outlook on life. You were a delight to be with whether we were playing cards or just visiting. Rest in Peace Beautiful Soul.

So sorry for your loss. Lord I hope you can keep up with her.
I so treasure all the antics we shared together.
The many trips to Japan, Europe and most of all Israel. To walk where Jesus walked, to wade in the Sea of Galilee….and now you are in His presence.
I so look forward to being with you in heaven.
I treasure the friendship we had. You are special.
Although I didn’t know her for very long, my heart skipped a beat at her presence. Always positive, welcoming, kind, fun loving and wise. This world will miss you….the next will cherish you!
My sincere condolences to Leslie, Dan and the entire family.
Our deepest condolences.
She will be dearly missed up here at Pinecrest.
