About Darol Edwin Reynolds
Darol Edwin Reynolds, adored son of Hattie and Cecil Reynolds, treasured brother to Dorene Moren, Joann Ribail, and David Reynolds, brother-in-law to Bob Moren, and beloved uncle to Lisa and Andrew (Tracey) Moren, Julie (Jamie), Jim (Mindie), and Jenny Ribail, and Beth, Bill, Bruce, and Kelly Reynolds.
Darol walked through life in his own unique way. He built a simple life, running his window-washing business and living more quietly than many people do. But quiet lives are not small lives. Often, they are lives of deep thought, deep faith, and deep feeling. He was wildly curious, and intellectual, and enjoyed his interests in reading and learning throughout his life.
Faith was an important part of Darol’s life. He studied Christian teachings and carried a strong awareness of God’s presence with him. His faith shaped how he saw the world and how he treated people, both with kindness and forgiveness and most importantly without bitterness.
His gentle spirit and loving heart also taught us something important about how to love people who experience the world differently. Long before anyone talked about things like autism the way we do today, he showed us that a person’s differences are not something to judge or push away. They are something to understand, embrace, respect, and love.
With his spirit and positivity, and his way of moving through the world, he taught all of us something about patience, acceptance, and kindness. Sometimes the people who teach us the most do it quietly, just by being who they are. Darol was one of those people.
As we return his body to the earth, we trust that his soul rests with God and pray he is greeted with a deeper love, profound respect and the appreciation for the good he has done in this world.
Darol, you are loved, and you will be missed.
Godspeed, sweet man.
