Dan Lilly, 78, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024 in Gilbert Arizona. Dan is now at rest from his long cancer battle of twenty eight years. He is now pain free and with his first wife Marie (Houlihan) Lilly, his parents, David and Dorothy Lilly, and sister in law Loraine Lilly. He is survived by his wife Candace McIntosh, brothers Doug (Trudy) Lilly, Duke Lilly, nieces and nephews, and many loving friends and family. We also can’t forget little Gizmo, who brought so much joy to him especially on their golf cart walks.
Dan led an adventurous life teaching for the United States Department of Defense where he was introduced to many friends who shared his inspiration to world food, beverage and travel.
Dan’s career included teaching in Japan, The Republic of Philippines, and Germany. While in Germany he met his first wife, Marie Houlihan and the two soon relocated to beautiful Arizona,
where they married and enjoyed life to the fullest before her passing from Parkinson’s disease in 2012.
After Marie’s passing he attended the Hospice of the Valley grief group where he met Candace McIntosh. Over time a loving relationship developed and they married on December, 6th, 2014.
Dan’s love of traveling brought them on many more adventures throughout different countries before his passing.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of the Valley.
