11/24/1955 - 04/17/2025

Curtis Wenzel, age 69, passed away on the morning of April 17, 2025. Born on November 24, 1955, in California, Curtis lived a life full of love and adventure.

From a young age, Curtis found solace and joy in fishing—a passion that would shape not only his hobbies but his career. He spent many years working on fishing boats, finding comfort on the open water and pride in a hard day’s work. It was not uncommon to find him at a local fishing park before the sun had even risen, lines cast, ready to greet the day with patience and purpose.

Curtis leaves behind many who loved him dearly. He is survived by his cherished family and friends, while holding in his heart the memories of his beloved wife, Erlinda, his mother Doris, his younger sister Lori, and his younger brother Dennis.

He found peace and happiness in the simplest of pleasures—morning catches, strolls along Redondo Beach, and unforgettable trips to the Philippines with Erlinda, his partner in every sense of the word. Curtis was never happier than when the family was together enjoying the delicious smells of a holiday dinner or one of the many Sunday lunches. Those who knew Curtis will remember his loyalty and unwavering love for his family.

A cherished uncle, Curtis adored his nieces and nephews and was especially proud to be a great uncle. His quiet wisdom, dry humor, and gentle encouragement left a lasting imprint on every generation of his family.

In accordance with his wishes, Curtis’s ashes will rest with his beloved Erlinda, and part will be returned to the beach—where the tide is endless, and there will always be fish waiting for him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
