05/16/1941 - 08/01/2022

Barbara A. Loveless, 81, born in Columbus, GA on May 16, 1941, was called home on Monday, August 1, 2022, in Gilbert, Arizona. Her nickname “Shuma” was given to her by her grandson Travis Taylor which all her other seven grandchildren referred to her as well. She loved working as a district manager for a large retail company for over 16 years. She loved getting manicures, going out to eat (especially at Red Lobster, Cheesecake Factory, and Olive Garden). She enjoyed playing bingo, participating in all the activities at her assisted living facility where she had many friends, playing cards and board games with family and friends, bowling with her late husband Robert and their friends, and trips to the mountains in Arizona where she accepted the Lord into her heart on October 17, 2016. She loved all animals but was “partial” to dogs, and had a passion for butterfly jewelry, clothing, and anything related to butterflies.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert of 44 years, and parents Bernice (Cleolua) Phelps of Orlando, FL.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri (Mark) Shuttleworth of San Tan Valley, AZ; sons, David (Hilde) Hodges of Port Wentworth, GA, Ronald Loveless and Jerry (Karen) Hodges of Stuart, FL, and Marc (Carol) Hodges of Savannah, GA; sister, Glenda Cobb of Conyers, GA; brothers, Frankie and Tony Phelps of Orlando, FL; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Barbara’s wishes were to have a Celebration of Life in the mountains of northern Arizona. She will be laid to rest at a future date beside her husband at the Riverview Cemetery in Baldwinsville, NY.

Contributions can be made in Barbara’s name for donations of bibles through the Gideons International in hopes to share the gospel of Jesus Christ love for us. www.gideons.org

Rev. 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
