Anne Marie Benjamin

Anne Marie Benjamin (McMahon), age 84, passed away with her children by her side on August 1, 2023 in Chandler, Arizona.

Anne was born to John and Margaret McMahon in Jersey City, New Jersey, on July 12, 1939. After leaving Jersey City, she resided in Carlstadt and Lyndhurst, New Jersey, before relocating to Arizona in 2016. She found her home at Sky Ridge Senior Living in Gilbert.

Anne graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Jersey City, New Jersey. She began her career as a secretary at the American Can Company and then went on to work as a billing specialist in the freight industry.

Anne was always proud of her Irish heritage and her New Jersey roots. She had a bit of Jersey sass, making her a true Jersey Girl. She loved her friends and family, especially her Momma, and was often found up to no good with her older sister, Pat.

You could always find Anne dressed from head to toe for every holiday, especially her two favorites, St. Patrick’s Day and the Fourth of July. She loved hosting Thanksgiving for her family and always felt the day did not get the recognition it deserved.

Anne is survived by her loving children, Richard Bennett and Lynne Andl, and their spouses, Patti and Michael. She adored her grandchildren, Lauren Johnson and her husband Sam, Tyler Andl and his fiancée Erica, Ryan Bennett and Camden Andl. She cherished her nephews and niece, Tommy Kane, Robert Kane and Colleen Sprout. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, brother, and husband.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 10:30 AM.
